Big Red’s Lodges welcomes guests to health and wellness with its opening at McConnell Heart and Health Campus, John H. McConnell’s dream fulfilled.

Eight scenic, arts-and-craft style lodges open on the McConnell Heart and Health Campus for guests seeking to improve their health and wellness, or a quiet respite with modern amenities to relax.

Big Red’s Lodges realizes the dream of the McConnell Heart and Health Campus namesake and benefactor, the late John H. McConnell, affectionately known as “Big Red,” to establish the health center as an extended-stay regional attraction.

The lodges are nestled among 25 wooded acres behind the McConnell Heart Health Center with wetlands and a walking trail named “Peggy’s Path,” in honor of Mr. McConnell’s wife. A footbridge connects the residential retreats to the health center. Each of the units features a spacious bedroom and bathroom, microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, flat-screen television, coffeemaker, high-speed Internet connection, fine linens, arts-and-crafts appointments and comfortable furnishings.

Instead of taking an elevator to the 14th floor of a hotel, our guests can relax in an Adirondack chair on a front porch and enjoy nature. Yet, they’re just a footbridge away from world-class health and fitness facility and minutes away from downtown and the city’s other attractions.”

With complete access to the health center’s resources and specialists, guests can receive swim lessons, sports and personal training, massage therapy, nutritional counseling and lifestyle coaching. They can make arrangements for fitness testing, disease screenings and customized programming to address weight and mobility issues.

Whether people want to spend a night, a weekend or a week, we’ll create the environment that meets their goals.

Big Red's Lodges is just 4 miles away from OSU campus and a little over 6 miles away from downtown, the Arena District, Short North and the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
